The following is a suggested list of personal gear
and equipment to bring with you.
You may wish to add, delete or substitute according to personal
requirements. If you have concerns about this list, give the school
a call and we will be glad to answer your questions.
- 4" folding lock blade with belt holder
- Leatherman type pocket tool
- Sleeping bag
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Work jeans
- Light jacket
- Warm coat
- Leather belt
- Leather work gloves
- Long sleeve western shirts and short sleeve or t-shirt for
warm weather
- Large and pocket notebook, pens or pencils
- Personal toiletries
- Sunscreen
- Mosquito repellent
- Camera and film
- Watch
- Tetanus Shot (you must have had a tetanus shot
with the past two years
- Vibram or airbob sole wet weather boots
- Leather hiking boots
- Wind up alarm clocks
- Hat with brim
- Disposable lighters, waterproof matches
- Warm underclothing and lots of socks (warm and lightweight)
- Small daypack with water bottle or canteen (2 quarts min.)
- Duffle bag and footlocker with padlock (foot locker optional)
- Rain gear (pants and jacket)-no ponchos please
- Shower shoes

- Binoculars
- Pocket knife with at least two blades
- Knife sharpener
- Elk bugle and cow call (We can help you select at a local
sporting goods store if you wish)
- Handgun and ammo
